I wrap my thumb and index finger around her wrist and lead her toward the ring. She doesn't resist.
"It looks so different now, with no one here," I say.
She seems interested, looking with me.
If the human race should become extinct and a thousand years from now someone should come across the view I see, would they be puzzled? Would they ever guess what this was used for? And even if they were able to discern this type of event, distinguish it from the Gladiators in the Coliseum, who are there to be mauled by the animals, could they ever imagine a woman watching it all?
Or, imagine a woman crying over what she sees?
